There is so much productivity happening in this photo of workers preparing and packaging produce. We can imagine what it would be like, sitting on woven baskets in community with others, bent over a tedious hands on task. The sorting, cutting, and bundling of goods spread as a continuously present demand of our labor and attention. Working hard but knowing that this is what will pave a path for your family’s future.
Every person needs and deserves periods of rest, but there are times in life where we have to learn to persevere through work and stress to reach our goals. We probably wouldn’t love every minute of sitting and sorting hard grown goods, but instead of dreading the task we could choose to embrace it. Imagine the conversations that have been had around that pile of vegetables. Stories swapped, problems sorted, and bonds built all while working through the day.
What a great reminder that in order to experience life’s best moments, we have to dig in and get our hands a bit dirty. Parents love their children, and they quickly learn there is no shortcut around the hard parts to only get to the sweet ones. Our careers can bring us a sense of personal success, but most people would tell you that some late nights were unavoidable in the process. The things in life most worth doing are often difficult, a bit messy, and even a little stressful but in the end they are also worth it.

The photograph of the fox - The fox is totally unaware of the photographer, makes me feel like a fly on the wall - or a petal on these purple flowers reviewing the world from his perspective.
